With Park County property tax revenue declining for many area fire departments, there is preliminary talk about seeking a countywide 1 cent sales tax to benefit all emergency service agencies.
At a meeting on Sept. 10 of the Platte Canyon Fire Protection District in Bailey, Fire Chief Mark Wesseldine and Administrator Gail Judge told the board of directors that a 1 cent sales tax would help the many cash-strapped fire districts in the county. Details in this week's Flume.

What a load of crap.
First they lie and terrorize the public to get a tax increase a few years ago.
They squander the money on BS. Put way to many people on the payroll. Waste a boatload of money and then have the audacity to come to the well for another drink of water.
Are they nuts?
What "agencies" are you referring to?

I just found this. And look at Hartsel fire who have given the chief and others the most generous amounts of wages, never mind how values have gone down in their district.

No none of them including Platte Canyon deserve any more funding, until they learn some fiscal responsibility and stop the waste.
