Conifer Area Council Community Save the Dates Notice

Happy Fall (and a little Winter), Everyone,

Please mark your calendars and share the following upcoming events, some of which have volunteer opportunities.

2. Conifer Recreation Coalition (CRC) is off to a strong start. Project PLACE, its signature project, is a master plan to build, enhance and promote recreational opportunities in and around the Conifer Area. A workshop, which will be open to everyone, is in the planning stages. Stay informed by LIKING CRC on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/coniferrec , follow them on Twitter @coniferrec, send an email to or contact Tookie Nemchak at 303-594-9347. CRC is going to need your input on all there is to see and do in the Conifer Area.

3. Conifer Newcomers and Neighbors Holiday Boutique Silent Auction
~ Conducted by Conifer Area Council Trails Team on November 2, 2013 at Conifer High School.

~ We are currently seeking donations of items to include in the auction. Your donation will go a long way to help our efforts in building the network of community trails our residents have asked for.

~ If you can donate items or volunteer to help with our preparations and Auction day, please contact Pat Bouchard at 303-838-0103 , Punky Kiefer at 303-697-0268 or Brooke Kerns at 303-838-0026. Thank you for your continued support of CAC and our community.

4. Mountain Resource Center Empty Bowls – fundraiser to fight hunger for mountain area families.
~ Wednesday, November 6, Lunch (11 am til 2 pm) and Supper (5 til 7 pm) at Mountain Resource Center, 11030 Kitty Drive, Conifer 80433.

~ Thursday, November 7, Lunch (11 am til 2 pm) at Evergreen Lake House.

~ Minimum $25/person donation – Tickets are limited (availability at the door is NOT guaranteed)! For Veteran’s Day, honor a veteran and their family by purchasing and donating a ticket! Purchase in advance at http://www.mrcco.org , at MRC on 11030 Kitty Drive, Conifer, or by phone 303-838-7552.

~ To donate bowls, soups, desserts, beverages or volunteer, contact Karen Verdier at 303-838-7552.

5. 285 Corridor Food Drive
~ Saturday, November 16, 2013 7am til 4 pm at King Soopers, Conifer.

~ Supported by 9Cares, Mountain Resource Center and other area food pantries.

~ Volunteers needed; please contact Mary Alice Cohen @ 303-838-7552 (Mountain Resource Center)

~ Details forthcoming beforehand – but don’t hesitate to take advantage of sales between now and then!

6. Conifer Area Council Town Hall Meeting
~Wednesday, November 20, 2013, West Jeff Middle School, 9449 S. Barnes Ave., Conifer 7 PM. Meeting topics will be sent in early November.

7. Converting to new e-mail system (Vertical Response) – stay tuned for details.
We are in the process of converting to a new e-mail system with Vertical Response. You have probably already seen a few messages on our new system as well as on this existing platform. So, please rest assured we are making progress and did not want to confuse our wonderful contacts during this transition.
