The monthly meeting of the Platte Canyon School District board of education was held on Oct. 14 and among the items of interest was a presentation about a new after-school outreach program for middle school students from the Boys & Girls Club of South Park.
The board also approved a notice of intent to use Standard Response Protocol, an approach championed by the Bailey-based “I Love U Guys” Foundation to get all parties on the same page when a crisis occurs at a school. The notice of intent will be submitted by Superintendent Jim Walpole to the foundation.
And it recognized the retirement at the end of the month of Director of Technology Wayne Howard, who has been working at that position for 18 years. Details in this week's Flume.
