For the first time in 11 years as a cross country coach, Troy Phillips has brought home a regional championship, as his Platte Canyon boys team took first place at the Colorado 3A Region 3 Cross Country Meet on Oct. 18 and qualified for the state championships.
“I’ve had quite a few third-place and runner-up teams, but never a championship, and it was pretty remarkable,” Phillips said.
