After sitting vacant since the former El Rio De Juan restaurant closed its doors in May 2011, the building that housed it along the North Fork of the South Platte River in Bailey, at 60006 US Highway 285, has had two owners in two months.
The latest buyers are Michael Abbondanza and David Schaefer, the founders of JJ Maxwell’s restaurant in Conifer, plus Serina Schaefer, David Schaefer’s wife.
They plan to have a restaurant, general store and grocery in the building.
Details in this week's Flume.

I miss El Rio De Juan. Hopefully the new owners can create a good restaurant.
