Don't forget: the Conifer Town Hall Meeting is tonight at West Jeff Middle School, 7-8:30pm. Conifer Area Council is gearing up to solicit community feedback with a survey in order to update the Conifer Community Plan and make sure that our voices are heard in what we want for development of our area in the Jefferson County Master Plan. Jeffco is currently working on updating that plan, and they aren't really soliciting feedback from each community for that they'd want, so it's imperative to participate in the upcoming survey and make sure our desires are included.

Come tonight to learn more!

Conifer/285 Corridor Area Community Plan

The Conifer/285 Corridor Area Community Plan encompasses a large and diverse community in the south mountain area of Jefferson County. It was produced by the citizens of Conifer, Aspen Park and Pine, and the areas along and within the 285 Corridor, and the Jefferson County Planning & Zoning Division to guide future development decisions.

The Conifer/285 Corridor Area Community Plan, Part I and Part II, was adopted by the Planning Commission as an interim plan August 7, 2002 and as a final plan on September 3, 2003. An amendment to the Housing Density Summary chart and associated language changes in the Hazards and Housing chapters was adopted by the Planning Commission on October 1, 2008.

Since adoption of the Comprehensive Master Plan in 2010, both the policies in the Conifer/285 Corridor Area/Evergreen Area Community Plan and policies in the Comprehensive Master Play apply to land use proposals. Specific policies in the Community Plan are still applicable, but general policies in the Comprehensive Master Plan now take precedent over the general policies in the Community Plan.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
