Christmas in the mountains is here and towns around Park County have turned on the Christmas trees and started the festivities.
Fairplay held its annual Real Colorado Christmas and Holiday Craft Bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 6. More than 100 artisans featured their goods at the craft show and a horse-drawn carriage shuttled folks from the bazaar at the school campus to Front Street, where shops offered holiday deals, carolers sang to passersby and people in the community enjoyed each other’s company and the day’s festivities.
Turnout for Cowboy Christmas Dec. 7 at McGraw Memorial Park in downtown Bailey was larger than usual – more than 60 children chatted with Santa.
Lynn Griffin, owner of Rustic Square LLC with her husband Dennis, and sponsor of Cowboy Christmas observed mixed results.
“In other years when it’s cold and snowy, the craft booths see lots of sales. But this year, we saw a lot of people outside enjoying the beautiful weather,” Griffin said.
