Problem solving comes natural to Lyn Kulenburg.

Recipient of this year’s GRACIE award – an annual community achievement honor by the Platte Canyon Area Chamber of Commerce – Kulenburg is humbled by the recognition but thinks there should be other names on it, her husband, Bill, for one.

“He’s always been right here by my side,” Kulenburg said.

The GRACIE Award was created in 2006 in honor of Gracie Trast, a Park County resident known for her involvement in the community, especially with respect to helping children with developmental disabilities.

The award name developed into an acronym for Giving, Resourceful, And Caring, Involved, Exceptional.

Kulenburg is known in the Bailey area for jumping in with both feet when it comes to community involvement, said Jim Myers, president of the chamber.
