After a final review Jan. 8, the Jeffco Open Space Advisory Committee agreed to support staff recommendations that include a $40,000 grant to replace the bridge at Evergreen Lake Park and $11,000 for projects at the Nature Center.
The Jeffco grant for the bridge replacement represents a small portion of the total cost, for which Denver Mountain Parks, owner of the Lake Park, has the primary responsibility. The total cost of the bridge project is estimated at $790,000. The Colorado Department of Transportation is contributing $630,000. Denver parks and the Evergreen Metropolitan District have agreed to contribute $40,000 each for the project. The remaining $80,000 will come from Evergreen park district funds and the anticipated Jeffco grant.
