Ice Melt Concert Expands Beneficiaries to Honor Greg Henika
Friday's event benefits EPRD Special Needs Programs and EChO
Evergreen, CO (Jan. 26, 2015) --
Sister duo sensation Facing West and singer/songwriter favorite John Erlandson will headline the first-ever Evergreen Ice Melt Contest Benefit Concert this Friday, Jan. 30 at Bistro Colorado in Bergen Park.
Hosted by the Mountain Foothills Rotary, the concert will raise money for the Evergreen Ice Melt event and its beneficiaries - Evergreen Park & Recreation District Special Needs Program, Evergreen Christian Outreach, and Crutches for Africa.
In addition, Mountain Foothills Rotary has decided to donate a portion of the concert proceeds to the Aktion Club in memory of Blue Spruce Kiwanis member and community volunteer Greg Henika, who died tragically on Evergreen Lake last week while setting up a charity ice golf tournament to benefit Aktion's adults with disabilities.
Facing West, featuring sisters Caitlin and Sidney Powell, will perform at 6 p.m., and The Most Pretty Random All-Stars highlighting Erlandson, Lisa Delia, Rich Jacobs and John Turner will take the stage at 7:45 p.m.
There is a suggested donation of $10 at the door. Ice Melt tickets and specially designed short- and long-sleeved commemorative t-shirts will be available for purchase with proceeds supporting the contest's charities.
Ice Melt Contest participants submit their guesses for the correct date and time when the Ice Melt barrel will fall into Evergreen Lake. First place prize for the most accurate guess is $1,000; second place $500; third place $250; and fourth place $125. More contest details are available at
