On behalf of the Leadership Evergreen Class of 2013, from which I graduated, I would like to invite you all to join us as we celebrate the completion of our second class project - 4 interpretive signs that have been installed around Evergreen Lake! Our first project was to increase awareness and the number of people signed up for CodeRED and Smart911 in Jefferson County, which we successfully did during our class year. We're very excited about these signs as they have been a labor of love and time - no other Leadership Evergreen class has taken on two projects, and that we saw it through to completion a year and a half after graduation was a testament to the dedication and devotion to the community that our amazing class had!
The official announcement from Leadership Evergreen:
2013 Class Project Completed
Join Us Wednesday, April 1st at 4pm to Celebrate!
We are excited to announce that the class project for the 2013 Leadership Evergreen Class is complete. Four beautiful, permanent informational signs have been installed around Evergreen Lake. The signs inform the public about key historical, environmental and wildlife aspects of the area. The class created and spearheaded the project, but in true collaborative style, worked with EPRD and Evergreen Audubon to bring it to reality.
The 2013 Class, as well as Alumni and 2015 class members are invited to see the signs and join in the group photo this Wednesday, April 1st at 4:00pm at the Lakehouse. Immediately afterwards we will all gather at Keys at the Green to celebrate. Please join us!
Sincerely,
Peggy Eggers and Kelly Haley,
Leadership Evergreen Co-Presidents

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The weather held off for us today as we cut the ribbon! When you get a chance, go check out the four new signs around Evergreen Lake. They are located over by the Evergreen Audubon Center, two near the Fishing Bridge, and down by the Dam.
We even got a fly-by!

The class created and spearheaded the project, solicited the funds, and in true collaborative style, worked with EPRD and Evergreen Audubon to bring it to reality.
Starting in late 2013, they began the collaborative effort with EPRD and Vanessa Hayes, director of the Evergreen Nature Center, who’s help and expertise was instrumental. Multiple planning meetings took place as the permission process moved forward, and a great deal of care taken to determine content, style of signs, placement and much more.
