From the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office:
We are proud to partner with the Seniors' Resource Center (The Yellow House) in Evergreen next Saturday, April 18, for a special afternoon event titled "It's an Emergency: What Seniors Need to Know."
The meeting will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the SRC at 5120 Highway 73. The free event will include information, speakers, door prizes and refreshments!
Seniors will learn about:
• How to choose a medical alert system that’s right for you.
• Special programs to help seniors with emergency response
• Making final wishes known (Living Will/ MOST Form)
• Learning emergency preparedness- personal and home
• Resources for other emergent needs and concerns in the community.
Guest speakers include:
1:15- 2:00pm- Jodi Walzer, NREMT-P, Evergreen Fire and Rescue
“Emergency Medical Response: What You Should Know”
2:15- 3:00pm- – Melissa Coleman Palmer LCSW, Mt. Evans Homecare and Hospice.
“Putting Pen to Paper: Making Final Medical Wishes Known”
3:15- 4:00 pm- Deputy Gordon Neuenfeldt, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Dept.
“Emergency Preparedness: Available Resources”
FREE PARKING AND FREE TRANSPORTATION PROVIDED BY SRC FOR THE EVENT (Must contact Call and Ride for Transportation to the Yellow House. Call (303) 944- 7474 (North) or (303) 944-5777 (South) to arrange transportation.
