Greetings!
April 22nd at 6:30 pm is the final class for "Platte Canyon University" for this semester. We hope to begin another session with practical topics of local interest in October 2015.
This month we are excited have local guide and published author, Duane Redford to facilitate a class on fly fishing at the Canyon Room at Platte Canyon High School. He is very skilled and very entertaining and I am sure the presentation will be fun and informative. He will have tips and techniques for the beginner as well as for the seasoned and experienced fisherman.
I want to thank all of you that have attended our classes over this past session. The feedback that we have received is very gratifying. The board of the Platte Canyon Area Chamber of Commerce is honored to provide an opportunity for all of us to learn more of the practical skills that are a part of mountain living.
I also want to thank the "visiting professors" who have contributed their time and knowledge to benefit our mountain neighbors. These classes could not have been arranged without their much appreciated contributions. A special thanks is reserved for Paul Sandos with the Platte Canyon School District, Marcel Flukiger, and our local Platte Canyon Fire Dept. for their efforts to provide a quality "campus" for all of us to share.
Please circulate the attached flyer where you can. We look forward to seeing those of you that want to learn about fly fishing on April 22nd.
Tomorrow is our monthly membership breakfast meeting at Platte Canyon Fire Station at Crow Hill (next to Crow Hill Cafe) starting at 7:30. All are welcome to attend, if you wish to have some breakfast provided by Cutthroat Cafe, it's $5.00.
A very special Bailey Day Festival is planned for June 27 . It will be our most exciting local celebration ever! Plan ahead to attend and to join us for our catered BBQ and Street Dance after the days festival. We will all love to see our neighbors dressed in historical costumes and dancing in to the night under the stars.
Remember, "Bailey By Choice, Stronger Together"!
