Two Park County powers – the South Park Burros and the Platte Canyon Huskies – collided in 12 separate track and field events at the April 14 meet hosted by Clear Creek High School in Evergreen.
“The meet went well,” Platte Canyon head coach Chris Hendrick said. “The conditions were great and there was no wind to speak of.”
The Husky boys outweighed the Burro boys by a 40-point margin, to take third place out of 11 teams with 87.50 points, and the Burros hung at eighth place with 47.50 points. Leveling the scales, the Lady Burros took a four-point lead over the Lady Huskies, to take sixth place with 57 points and the Huskies clung tight at seventh place with 53 points.
