Guffey Cemetery named a Park County Historical Landmark

The Guffey Cemetery was added to the Park County Historical Landmark list by Park County’s Board of County Commissioners April 23.

The cemetery, northeast of the Guffey Charter School, is located on private property owned by Keith Noble in the Cover Mountain subdivision.

“Guffey Cemetery is a prime example of a boot hill cemetery from the 1800s,” Amy Unger, Park County Historical Preservationist, said.

Unger prepared the nomination that includes a short history of the Guffey area and the people buried in the cemetery.
