It's finally here - Marmot Fest 2015! We hope to see you today at Staunton State Park for all of the fun activities the volunteers have scheduled and we have marmots for you to adopt!

We are excited to also announce our new Staunton State Park webcam!

We would like to express our gratitude and thanks to the team at MindBlown, Inc, the team at My Mountain Town, Larry Blattel of SVC Technologies, and the Park Rangers at Staunton State Park for their assistance in making this happen. You can view the camera on our website, www.friendsofstauntonstatepark.org , (if you click on the thumbnail it will open full-size) and it will also be added to www.mymountaintown.com on their 285 Weather & Webcams page.

We are very excited to bring you this new amenity! Thank you again to everyone who helped make it happen!

A tremendous thank you to everyone who came to Staunton State Park this past weekend for Marmot Fest, or just to enjoy the park. We had a wonderful weekend meeting all of you and are deeply grateful for all of our marmots who were given new homes! All told, we were able to adopt 59 marmots, we have several new Friends of Staunton State Park members, and a couple of generous donations to boot! THANK YOU!!!

To all of the Staunton State Park Volunteers and Rangers - great job putting together the event, it was fantastic! The rain even held off until it was time to break down which was nice.

We hope to see you all back at the park over the rest of the summer! Don't forget there are still weekly activities happening, and two more Junior Ranger camps scheduled.

With Thanks,
Your Friends of Staunton State Park Board Members

Great Camera!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you know if we can buy a Marmot anywhere else or if they have them for sale all the time?

I would love to pick up a few for Xmas but I work that day.

Thanks Neutral Guy!

Yes, we actually will have additional marmots for sale - we had only ordered 48 to have on hand so we had to place an order for an additional case. Though 11 of those are already sold, we will have another 13 available so just let us know how many you would like and we will save them for you! They are $25 each, unless you are interested in adding on an Individual Membership ($30) or Family Membership ($50) for Friends of Staunton State Park! :) All funds we receive stay here and are spent at Staunton State Park to improve park trails, purchase equipment such as the AED devices at the Visitor Entrance, etc., unlike the park entrance fees which are sent to Colorado Parks & Wildlife to disburse to all of the state parks so the park only receives a small bit of that back.

Thank you for your interest in purchasing a marmot or few, we appreciate the support!
