Veteran Danny Schnacky is standing in the middle of the North Fork of the South Platte River. He contemplates his target as he casts a fly and it lands smoothly on the running water. He had served two tours in the Middle East six years ago. The battles are behind him but never out of his mind.
This day on the Platte, Schnacky was contemplating a different kind of adversary.
He was one of the team members at the Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing fifth annual “Battle At Boxwood” fishing tournament at the Boxwood Gulch Ranch nearShawnee Aug. 14.
