@10:17 Marijuana Update
Illegal grow operations
Approval of new grow operations
What's permitted? 36 plants maximum in one indoor residential structure
Haven't had problems with licensed retail establishments
11 approved, 8 denied so far
July 1st put 8 month moratorium on retail
Things to consider during moratorium
Cap on # of facilities in Park Co
Fees (County can't make money off of applications, can only cover cost)
Marijuana-free zone
Zoning
Mandatory canvassing requirement
@19: Question: where are you in that 8 month process & how can the public find out what's decided?
5% excise tax on ballot
@23:45 Sheriff Fred Wegener & John Pender
It's not the commercial issues, or the people who need it, it's the people who apply for medical exemptions who don't follow guidelines (grow too many, smell, don't keep accurate records, have personal issues [welfare, dysfunctional families, etc]) - impacts services provided by county
@32:55 Question: what kind of resources do you need?
@34:33 Question: Will the 5% excise tax on the ballot help you do your job?
@35:25 Question: An excise tax is on what is declared during shipping, how do you check on that?
@38:25 Question: Since there is no plan for how the excise tax will be spent, will it encourage more licenses to be granted?
@41:50 Question: Impact of methamphetamines on housing, etc. Are resources being allocated toward this too?
@44:20 Question: When going on marijuana raids, what percentage do you see other narcotics? Do you think it's bringing in other illegal drug trade?
@46:30 Question: Why are caregiver grow operations and retail allowed to be licensed and operate together as one business entity?
@50:19 Broadband Update
@1:01:13 Question: Is there a date that the tower will go online?
@1:02:50 Question: When will a light go on top of the tower? Answer: There won't be, it's built under height requirement for a light.
@1:06:50 Joe Burgett, Friends of Platte Canyon Fire, Mill Levy 5A Presentation
Board Meeting 2nd Tues every month, 7pm Crow Hill everyone welcome
@1:12:32 Question: Clarification on reduced staff and service provided.
@1:13:44 Question: Will insurance go up more if our insurance companies knew about events that the fire department sanctioned?
@1:16:55 Question: At previous meetings, we heard that you would not require fees for special events. Is that changing?
@1:19:55 Strategic Master Plan Update
@1:22:05 Dr. Brenda Craig, Platte Canyon Superintendent
Thanks for the video SC. All in all a very good presentation. And I am thankful to have the video since I missed some of the meeting.
I sent via email to others with a link and a neighbor is going to post it on Nextdoor.com, a local community website with residents primarily from Burland Ranchettes, Mill Iron D, Highland Pines and Crooked Top (I think CT encompasses many from PC 43 area). She asked me what your name is and if you are part of the Conifer/Bailey Chamber of Commerce. I couldn't fully answer at this point.
Great presentation which answers some of the questions of residents. I know time is limited at these meetings, but disappointed though that there wasn't more time for more interaction, questions and comments by those in attendance. I and others will address it to the Commissioners where it belongs but wanted to mention here.
One issue besides roads, is the Master Strategic Plan for the Bailey area looking at input on what residents would like. There will be more meetings for this to provide input and I hope many from this area will be able to attend or at least provide feedback to the Commissioners.
