Research in Park County helping define possible consequences of climate change
While partisans on both sides of climate change persist in their philosophical battle, scientists around the world continue to look for empirical evidence to support or dispute how the world’s shifting temperature may be affecting ecosystems.
Some of the most important research is being done on bumblebees in Park County.
Nestled at about 10,000 feet on Pennsylvania Mountain, is a 92-acre swath of land that recently became the key point in research regarding alpine bumblebees, a piece of land recently purchased and protected by the Mountain Area Land Trust.
