The cover of the newly released 2016 “Seasons of Our Mountains” community calendar is a real attention-grabber! The photo, by Morrison resident Mike Miscovich, is an up-close-and-personal portrait of a black bear. You can see it, as well as the other winning pictures and honorable mentions, at
www.MountEvans.org
(look for the calendar box).
The “Seasons of Our Mountains” calendar is a three-decade mountain-area tradition that features photographs of Evergreen, Conifer, Bailey, Idaho Springs, and surrounding areas. The winning photos were selected based on a community vote.
In addition to Miscovich, this year’s winning photographers are Ann Kechter, Joe Kechter, Ron Mikelson, Cynthia Mitchell, Ellen Nelson, Maureen Pottish, and Tim Tolnay of Evergreen; Keith Festag of Pine; Mike Quaintaince of Bailey; Jennifer Bocker and Taylor Hulett of Genesee; and Matthew Wert of Littleton.
The calendar is sponsored by Mount Evans Home Health Care & Hospice, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, JustAroundHere.com and Evergreen National Bank. All proceeds from sales go to Mount Evans, which uses the funds to care for mountain-area residents with limited financial resources and to provide community services such as grief counseling, caregiver support, and Camp Comfort, a bereavement program for children.
