Colorado Springs shooting suspect lived in Hartsel

Within hours after an active shooter incident unfolded in the shopping center at Centennial Boulevard and West Fillmore Street in Colorado Springs Friday, Nov. 27, the Park County Sheriff’s Office secured the Hartsel residence of the alleged gunman, 57-year old Robert Lewis Dear Jr.

Snow covered tire tracks are the only traces of any recent activity from a flurry of investigations by the Park County Sheriff’s Office, the Federal Bureau of Investigations and other agencies seeking answers, including a cadre of alphabet news agencies, to why suspect Robert Dear allegedly went on a shooting rampage.

The Fleetwood Wilderness camper, located at 809 Ouray Court, is visible from U.S. Highway 24 and the only residence existing on that road. The fenced property includes two sheds, a shelter for animals and an off-road vehicle. A Kia sedan is also parked on the property.
