Park County Sheriff Fred Wegener is overwhelmed by the outpouring of prayer and support from the community following last week’s shooting incident which left one officer dead and two injured during an execution of an eviction in Bailey.
“We always come together in the face of tragedy,” Wegener said. “It makes us strong. Everyone’s support for each other is necessary.”
Wegener said, in addition to holding multiple debriefings arranging for grief counseling for his staff, he’s trying to keep everyone involved.
“I don’t want anyone to feel left out,” Wegener said. “Staff, county personnel, people in the community offering their support or wanting to pay their respects.”
