On a lonely headstone in Greenwood Cemetery in Cañon City are engraved the words: Telulie Witcher – May 17, 1867 – March 27, 1870.
In the lower right corner is the name Willis Smith, Cañon City, the engraver’s name. Across the top, above the name is a sprig of flowers.
Someone cared for this not-yet-three-year-old child but the child seems to be lost to history.
About thirty feet east of the child’s headstone, is a four-sided obelisk with the name Witcher at the base, which may have a connection to Telulie.
