Global warming: the greatest challenge of our generation

Four leading climate change experts, including one who attended last December’s United Nations Climate Change Summit in Paris, will take the stage in Lakewood on Tuesday evening, March 22, to update us on efforts to meet this huge environmental challenge. The public is invited to attend this free forum from 7 to 9 p.m. at Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church, 11500 W. 20th Ave., Lakewood 80215 (corner of 20th Avenue and Simms Street). Reservations are not required.

The panelists will discuss the significance of the United Nations Climate Summit; review Colorado’s efforts to manage climate change vulnerabilities; and highlight the advances in renewable energy technologies. They include:
Dr. Max Boykoff, Associate Professor at the Center for Science and Technology Policy, University of Colorado-Boulder, who attended the UN Climate Change Summit;
Dr. Dennis Ojima, Professor and Senior Research Scientist, Colorado State University and a lead editor of the Colorado Climate Change Vulnerability Study;
Taryn Finnessey, a Climate Change Risk Management Specialist for the State of Colorado Department of Natural Resources;
Dr. Chuck Kutscher, Director of the Buildings and Thermal Systems Center at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL).
