BAILEY – PeaceWorks, Inc., Park County’s only crisis center that serves victims of domestic violence, is facing changes to it organizational structure.
Last week, Executive Director Janet Shown resigned for personal reasons.
“Working in high-impact positions can sometimes be like living in a pressure cooker,” Shown said in a statement to The Flume. “Following my mother’s death early this month, I came back to urgent job requirements that I found impossible to fulfill with professionalism and forethought. The staggering demands came with a heavy cost to my physical health and life balance.”
Shown said she ended up having a health incident last weekend that compelled her to make a decisive change to preserve both.
