County master plan process nearing adoption

he Park County Board of County Commissioners heard an update at its weekly meeting April 14 from Gabe Preston of RPI Consulting on the county master plan.

Preston has been hosting meetings open to the community across the county, collecting input from residents about the future of land management, economic growth and other visions and concerns for the county in the future.

Using tools already in place, such as the 2015 community survey by the commissioners, RPI’s own online survey, other databases from the county in addition to the input from the public at recent meetings, Preston and his team put together a nearly 120-page report for the commissioners to review.

“Park County has unmatched geographic diversity and there is no other place in Colorado that compares,” the report’s preface reads. “Its diverse geography presents great opportunities.”
