School District approves Energy Performance Contract

The Platte Canyon School District board of directors finalized at its April 11 meeting the Energy Performance Contract projects with the McKinstry construction company.

The projects will include: Platte Canyon High School control sequence improvements, all lighting and lighting controls upgrades, a pool cover and new pool pump, windows, all single-phase protection and PCHS auditorium lighting upgrade.

The cost of the projects will be financed through a master lease agreement with Huntington Public Capital Corp. of Nevada. The lease termination date is May 2, 2031.

Total cost of the projects is set at $1,196,074, and the district locked the financing at 2.85 percent, which will shorten the payback by a full year and save taxpayers money. The total for the lease agreement comes to $1,504,286.51
