The Park County Sheriff’s Office has hired David Wohlers as the new Undersheriff. He will replace former Undersheriff Monte Gore, who resigned April 1, after the Park County Board of County Commissioners approved an employee separation agreement and payment of $131,128 from the county.
Wohlers has been with PCSO since Sept. 1, 2015, working as patrol sergeant. Before that, he was the police chief of the Idaho Springs Police Department. He worked as a law enforcement officer in Idaho Springs for 27 years.
“I’ve always had family connections to Park County,” Wohlers said. “My uncle was a state trooper in this area and I’ve known the sheriff before he was sheriff. I’ve been familiar with the county for a long time.”
