At a special meeting of the Platte Canyon School District board of directors May 23, more than 100 parents, students and staff attended the session to show support for Fitzsimmons Middle School Principal Rim Watson.
Watson was placed on paid administrative leave eight days before the end of the current school year.
Park County Sheriff’s Office deputies removed him from the school property May 10, along with the personal items from his office.
The purpose of Monday’s special meeting was to decide if the district was going to renew Watson’s contract or dismiss him from his duties as principal.
