The Park County Historical Society will have a double bill on Saturday June 18tth. We’ll start the day with the first PCHS trip of 2016, heading to the EM/Santa Maria Ranch near Hartsel. The ranch has been preserved/restored, and is a great example of historic preservation of ranching in the center of Colorado in the 1870's and onward. We will leave McGraw Park in Bailey at 9:00, and arrive in Hartsel at 10:00. South Park attendees can meet us at the depot in Hartsel at that time. Bring a sack lunch along, and we will explore the many sites at the Santa Maria Ranch.

After we finish up at the ranch, we'll take a break, and we can then head into Hartsel for dinner and a program on Sam Hartsel! For the first time, the Park County Historical Society will be hosting a dinner presentation in Hartsel, highlighting the life and times of Sam Hartsel, the community's founder and namesake. Sam Hartsel was one of the first cattlemen in Colorado. He was truly a pioneer.

The event will be held at the Hartsel Community Center on Valley Avenue, Saturday June 18th. $8.00 at the door includes dinner and, of course the presentation. Dinner starts at 5:00 P.M. and the presentation begins at 5:30 P.M. Come join us and enjoy a fun and fact filled evening.
