Park County resident asks for old mine road to be reopened

During the weekly board of commissioners meeting, local resident Orion Paiement requested the commission to investigate reopening a private road that runs along the Columbia Reservoir and connects Colorado Highway 9 to County Road 6.

Paiement suggested that opening the road would make it easier for residents to access their properties on CR 6.

Presently residents have to drive to the north end of Alma to access CR 6, which is up to three miles in the opposite direction of the properties.

Commissioner Dick Hodges, suggested creating a Local Improvement District to fund the improvement and reopen the road. Paiement was given the information on how to create an LID and to petition his neighbors.
