Park County Board of County Commissioners awarded a bid to provide a chip seal maintenance overlay on 9.3 miles of paved roads in the Bailey-Pine Junction area on Aug. 4.
Rocky Mountain Chipseal received the bid award for $479,415, which was the lowest bid. The company is based in Jefferson and owned by Rick Peters, a former director of the county’s road and bridge department.
Rifle-based GMCO, Corp. submitted a bid of $512,754; which is about $92,000 higher than Rocky Mountain Chipseal.
A fog seal application was added to the scope of work after the bids were received. This will bring the total up to $507,915.
