What: Join Alan Gionet from CBS4 plus other community members and plunge for a great cause!
Can't take the plunge? Pledge a plunger.
We are sorry to report that the Evergreen Plunge is postponed for a later date. When the ice becomes thicker and more safe, we will let you when we reschedule. In the meantime, keep fundraising!
Countdown to the Plunge! Join us on February 12th and take the plunge or pledge a plunger at
www.drive-smart.org
.
At high noon, people will jump into the inviting waters of Evergreen Lake for a winter plunge to benefit several local charities, including Evergreen Park & Rec District's Special Needs Programs and Drive Smart. Several local personalities also plan to plunge into the icy waters. The event is a partnership with Drive Smart, Evergreen Fire/Rescue and the Jeffco Sheriff's Office. A 10-by-10-foot hole will be cut in the ice and equipped with a platform, ladder and Evergreen Fire Rescue water personnel to ensure everyone's safety.
Registration is $35 in advance and $45 at the door. Sign up online at drive-smart.org! Too chicken to plunge but want to support someone who isn’t? You can sponsor that friend, boss or enemy and watch those wild, wooly characters jump in! Make a donation to an Evergreen Lake Plunger.
Parking will be at US Bank and adjacent lots, with a shuttle running to Evergreen Lake beginning at 10 am, and registration on the day of the plunge opens at 10:30 AM. There will be no parking at the Lake.
Unfortunately, due to the warm weather and safety concerns, the 9th Annual Evergreen Lake Plunge scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, is CANCELLED.
Proceeds were to benefit EPRD Special Needs programs and Drive Smart, and now this vital fundraiser won't be able to raise these funds. If you registered to plunge, please contact DriveSmart to ask about a refund -- or consider making your registration fee a donation! You can also donate on the Drive Smart website.
Thanks to everyone who planned to participate. See you next year!
