Master Plan for the Mouth of Clear Creek Canyon Area to be Discussed at Community Meeting

Local residents, businesses and stakeholders are encouraged to attend and discuss the planned vision for the Mouth of Clear Creek Canyon on Wednesday, January 18, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Golden Community Center, 1470 10th Street Golden, CO 80401.

Hosted by Jeffco Open Space and Stream Design, LLC (Stream), this meeting will cover the vision for this portion of the canyon and the recreational benefits to the public. Topics include an overview for future development at the Mouth of Clear Creek Canyon, visitor intercept survey results from summer 2016, Peaks to Plains Trail updates, Chimney Gulch Trail improvements, Grant Terry Park and Welch Ditch Trail development, and more.

The meeting will begin with a 30-minute presentation by Stream, the Denver based consulting firm contracted by Jeffco Open Space for this project. Following the presentation, informational displays and staff will be available to facilitate discussion and answer questions.

Jeffco Open Space was recently awarded a Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) Connect Initiative Grant as well as a Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) Grant to aid in funding the development of another segment of the Peaks to Plains Trail at the mouth of Clear Creek Canyon which will eventually connect to the up-canyon segment of the trail and into downtown Golden.

Jeffco Open Space was founded as a land conservation organization in 1972.
