Deer Creek Elementary School kindergarten teacher Debra Orecchio spoke to the board during the public comments section of the meeting. Orecchio praised the school board and the school system for the improvements they have made, which has helped her son Jonathon.
“Jonathon, who is in eighth grade at Fitsimmons Middle School, he has some impairments and he struggles in school a lot,” Orecchio said.
“But this year he has made some amazing progress and for the first time ever he scored at grade level on one of the Northwest Evaluation Association tests,” Orecchio continued.
