Park County commissioners signed a right-of-way grant Jan. 26 with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management to conduct landfill closure and post-closure regulatory operations on the former landfill site just south of Fairplay.
Currently, the waste transfer station is located on the same parcel.
The property is owned by the BLM. (See The Flume Dec. 30 “Commissioners approve $43 million ... ”).
The right-of-way grant gives Park County permission to conduct post-closure activities on the 160-acre parcel.
