Denver Mountain Parks exhibit at Conifer Historical Society

The U.S. Highway 285 corridor has a number of breathtaking parks, with some spectacular views and hikes and well-built picnic shelters and pavilions.

These beautiful spaces may well have become prime real estate for private mansions had it not been for the foresight of a few people over a hundred years ago. The Denver Mountain Parks history exhibit at the Conifer Historical Society Museum honors the park system’s lineage.

The exhibit is comprised of park maps, informative information about the parks and architects, old newspaper articles and vacation brochures, all of which walk visitors through a time line of Denver Mountain Parks – back to a time when one could crawl through Mount Morrison’s nooks and crannies for a mere sixty cents a day.
