The second production for this season’s StageDoor Theatre’s adult company opened Friday, Jan. 27. The show “Something’s Afoot” is a spoof of Agatha Christie’s “And Then There Were None” (aka “Ten Little Indians”).
“Something’s Afoot” is a fun and raucous time with the plot beginning at the mansion of Lord Dudley Rancour. When the guests arrive they find the host dead. A terrible storm hits the island and washes out the bridge so no one can leave.
Guests begin dying almost immediately and the ending is a big surprise. StageDoor’s production was a lot of fun but the ensemble cast seemed a little flat in the first act. I believe as they grow into these farcical characters the show will be even more fun.
