Park County commissioners discussed Feb. 23 whether to add Land Use Regulation, Article Five, Zoning and Use Regulations, to the list of items for which the county Board of Adjustments can grant variances from.
Commissioner Mike Brazell was absent because he was testifying on a proposed telecommunication bill at the state legislature.
The BOA is a state mandated board that the commissioners appoint to hear land use variances.
The LUR defines a variance as modifying a standard “when a strict application of the resolution (LUR) would cause peculiar and exceptional practical difficulties or exceptional and undue hardship for persons” developing their land.
