Spring Floral Arranging with Marilyn Quigley
Students will learn the elements of design (form, color,texture, line, balance and proportion) to create unique, fresh flower arrangements. The instructor will teach the mechanics and techniques needed to create professional floral designs. Spark your creative potential using beautiful fresh flowers to design floral arrangements for gifts, events, or profit! Students will learn a new skill and have fun using beautiful flowers to enhance their lives. Students will take home a completed arrangement at the end of class.

Beginning Ceramics with Sunny Monaco
All levels hand building and wheel throwing techniques- students will be encouraged to make several pieces utilizing each method of handbuilding and wheel throwing. Vases to teacups and more!

Intermediate Ceramics: Teacups to Teapots with Sunny Monaco
The first three weeks of this class will be dedicated to focusing on utilizing several techniques wheel throwing and hand building (pinch, slump mold, coil and slab) beginning with tea cups and moving on to teapots. We are going to embark on a journey of designing a teapot. We will be looking at some contemporary artists as well as some historical works to inspire our designs. The second two weeks will be focused on surface treatment and how to decorate with slip or glazes.
We will discuss surface treatment, carving and glazing pieces.

AND DON'T FORGET! Museum Moments II Begins This Tuesday, March 14!
Museum Moments II: Center for the Arts presents a spectacular lecture series in collaboration with the region's most respected art museums. Stefania Van Dyke, Interpretive Specialist at the Denver Art Museum, will be speaking on "Star Wars and the Power of Costume," the immensely popular exhibit currently showing at the DAM. Stefania will speak about some of the behind the scenes events that she was involved in at Skywalker Ranch while investigating ideas to augment the Star Wars exhibit. She'll also share some insights into the process of costume-making for the Star Wars films.
This lecture takes place at CAE's current location, right next to Buchanan Recreation Center. Refreshments will be served from 6:30-7pm. The lecture runs from 7-8pm.
