Reservation deadline April 13
Historian Patty Limerick to speak at LWV Annual Business Meeting

Colorado State Historian Patty Limerick will be featured guest speaker at The League of Women Voters of Jefferson County’s Annual Business Meeting and luncheon on Wednesday, April 19, at the Lakewood Country Club, 6800 W. 10th Ave., Lakewood, 80214. Limerick, who is also a history professor at the University of Colorado Boulder, will speak about her passions and explore the history of Colorado.

One of Limerick’s passions is to shed more light on the continued significance of American Indians, calling it the “least understood aspect of Colorado history.” She explained that while the reservations are on the Western Slope, many people who moved to the Front Range from other states may not realize that some of their neighbors are Indian people, and there’s no more interesting place to look at resource development than the Southern Utes.

The event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and includes a business meeting and lunch. Cost is $30 per person by check or $32.04 by charge card online. Checks payable to LWVJeffco must be mailed to the League of Women Voters of Jefferson County, 1425 Brentwood St., Suite 7, Lakewood 80214 by April 13. To pay by charge card, go to lwvjeffcoannual2017.bpt.me . Guests may attend the event at the above prices. For more information, call the League at 303-238-0032 or visit www.lwvjeffco.org .
