en Thousand Acres, LLC purchased the marijuana cultivation license in August and 0.95-acre property at Garo from CT Management, LLC in July. The property is about half way between Fairplay and Hartsel on State Highway 9.
After postponements by county staff for a Feb. 2 hearing to renew the cultivation license and transfer of ownership, the Park County commissioners approved the transfer and license renewal on April 21.
Ten Thousand Acres plans to build two greenhouses and restore the Garo Mercantile building, which is all that is left standing from the original late 1800s Garo town site and railroad station.
