Evergreen Fire Rescue Annual Health and Safety Day August 26th

Join Evergreen Fire/Rescue and surrounding fire and life safety agencies, for a day of fun-filled events and public education.

This year we have several great events lined up such as a:
  • Pancake Breakfast
  • Bicycle Safety Course (with helmet and bike giveaways)
  • Fire Truck Tower Bucket Rides
  • Firefighter Demonstrations
  • Flight for Life Helicopter Landing
  • Fire Hose Water Shoot
  • Hot Dog BBQ
  • Bouncy Houses
  • Fire Extinguisher Service (*fee required, from 9am-1pm only)

We will also have areas set up where you can:
  • Receive Fingerprints and ID's for Children
  • Turn-In Prescription Medications
  • Donate Blood
  • Operate a Fire Extinguisher
  • View Trucks and Equipment
  • Adopt/Foster an Animal

PLUS educational opportunities will be available throughout the day to learn about wildland fire mitigation, disaster preparedness, CPR, Protecting against head trauma, recreational safety, transportation safety and how to properly use 911.

So please come support your local first responder agencies and join us for a day of fun filled activities and opportunities to learn about how to be better prepared during emergencies!!!

From Evergreen Fire Rescue:
The Colorado Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management will be hosting a 1 hr. Disaster Preparedness Class in the Administration Building of Fire Station #2 @ 12pm on 8/26 in correlation with our Annual Health & Safety Day. Stop by and learn how you can become better prepared for disasters! We will be giving away the Disaster Preparedness Kit pictured below to one lucky person in attendance. The class is free of charge, no registration necessary. Hope to see you this Saturday!

Evergreen Fire/Rescue will kick off our 19th Annual Safety Day Tomorrow @ 8:30am. (1802 Bergen Pkwy) Show up promptly at 8:30 to watch or Honor Guard present the colors and kick-off a fun filled day of family activities that are tailored to fire and life safety.

Here is the time line of events:

8a-10a FREE Pancake Breakfast
8a-1p Fire Extinguisher Service
8:30a Official Start/Presentation of Colors
8:30a-12:50p Helmet Fitting & Bike Rodeo
8:30a-12:30p Blood Drive (appt. required)
10a Auto Extrication Demonstration
11a Flight 4 Life Landing (Bergen Meadow Field)
11:30a-12p SideXSide Burn Room Demonstration
12p-1p Are You Ready? Disaster Presentation
12p-2p FREE Hot Dog BBQ

Attendees will have the chance to learn several life saving skills such as extinguisher use and CPR, be able to turn in prescription medication, ride on a fire truck and get fingerprinted along with several other great services. We will be giving away over 150 bike helmets, 18 bikes, a disaster preparedness kit and a fire escape ladder among other giveaways.

This is a free event but donations will be accepted. All proceeds will go to support Christmas with a Firefighter, EVFD and Foundation 1023.

"Foundation 1023 is committed to supporting the emotional and mental wellness of First Responders and their support network who are experiencing illness, loss or stressful life events by providing confidential funding for emotional and mental wellness services, as well as access to peer supported outdoor activities and events designed for personal wellness and connection."


You can now drop of your fire extinguisher at Fire Station #2 for Service and Inspection!!
