Join us Jan. 11 to say goodbye to Jefferson County Commissioner Donald Rosier. There will be a farewell celebration for Rosier at 10:30 a.m. in hearing room one, which is located on the first floor of the Administration and Courts Facility, 100 Jefferson County Parkway. Following the program, there will be a reception in the atrium.
Commissioner Rosier is resigning from the Board of County Commissioners to become the general manager of the Sterling Ranch Community Authority Board. Rosier was elected commissioner in 2010 and re-elected to serve another four years in 2014. He is term limited next year. Sterling Ranch is a 3,400-acre mixed use master planned walkable community in northwest Douglas County.
Rosier is known for being a strong advocate for the citizens of Jefferson County on a range of issues. His dedication serving on numerous boards and commissions, strong presence in the business community, and efforts to collaborate across county government will create lasting impacts throughout the county. During his tenure, Rosier utilized his technical expertise and strong attention to detail to ensure all decisions met the needs of county residents. As a result, he received many awards, took on leadership roles both locally and nationally, and is recognized as a community leader in many fields including transportation, development, business and technology.
Commissioner Rosier represents Jefferson County in Commissioner District Three, which is the south part of Jeffco. The vacant position will be filled, according to state statute, by the Vacancy Committee of the Jefferson County Republican Party.
