StageDoor Theatre’s next adult production is the hilariously funny adaptation of Alfred Hitchcock’s 1935 film, “The 39 Steps.”
Hitchcock’s film was based on a 1915 novel by John Buchan. The play version was originally written by Simon Corble and Nobby Dimon. The original play was rewritten in 2005 by Patrick Barlow.
The concept of the show is to have just four actors do the entire Hitchcock movie onstage while changing into many different characters.
The hilarity comes from these quick changes and the improvisation between the four characters throughout the show.
