From the Matthew Scheel Firefighter Scholarship Facebook Page:

We are excited to let everyone know that a scholarship fund has been established at Red Rocks Community College in memory of our son, brother and friend, Matthew Scheel.

Beginning with the 2019-2020 school year a deserving candidate will receive $2000 to support the pursuit of a career as Firefighter/EMS service personnel. The successful candidate will demonstrate a past history and continued desire of community service and will reside in the rural or mountain communities of Colorado.

The scholarship is currently funded for a couple of years, but we would like to continue this memorial for Matt. If you would like to donate to the scholarship fund, go to this website and donate: www.rrcc.edu/foundation . Type Matthew Scheel Scholarship in the information box to assign the donation to the scholarship fund.

You may also mail in a donation:
RRCC Foundation
13300 West Sixth Ave, Campus Box 1
Lakewood, CO 80228-1255

Donations to RRCC are tax deductible!

We are planning a fundraising soon! We will be posting details soon!

Matthew Scheel was a 10 year veteran of Elk Creek Fire, and more recently had volunteered with North Fork Fire Rescue. He passed away in his home in Conifer last September after suffering a cerebral aneurism and is greatly missed.
