lived up in that area since 1997 (off and on)...the logistics of a grocery store (even small) is WATER and a tremendous amount of dirt work for proper grading.. The owner of the parcels (is it still Dozier?) has been trying to develop that concept for a VERY long time....no luck, too costly.
Other than Delwood Liquor moving, pretty much everything I've heard is rumor too (but no grocery stores that I know of). Supposedly they've sold quite a few of Duke Dozier's plots, but the issue building there is that it's solid granite (according to a former contractor I spoke with who's built around there) and is very costly to excavate. Don't expect anything to go up quickly.
"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther
The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
