The county commissioners passed the 2019 county budget Dec. 20. It includes $36.11 million dollars in expenses and $33.92 million in new revenue.
At the beginning of 2018, the county had $18.06 million in fund balances. When all 2018 expenses are in, total fund balances are expected to drop to $13.9 million.
About $2.2 million of fund reserves will be needed to balance the 2019 budget. This will bring all fund balances down to $11.71 million.
The biggest hits will be in the general, public works and sales tax fund balances.
Compared to 2018 projected actual income and expenses, the 2019 proposed budget is about $900,000 less in expenses and about $1.2 million more in revenue.
