Volunteer Trails Light Maintenance Projects
Location: Multiple Parks
Join our Trails Team
Tuesdays April 9 through May 7th and Thursday May 9th for light trail maintenance day projects across the county. No training needed!

REQUIREMENTS:
14 yrs old and Up
Be in good physical condition
Be able to use a variety of tools, including shovels, picks and rakes
Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
Be prepared for numerous and changing environmental conditions
WHAT TO BRING & WEAR:
- Closed-toe, sturdy shoes are required. No open-toed shoes or sandals of any kind will be allowed.
- Long pants (we will be working in rattle snake habitat)
- Work gloves
- Plenty of water (2 quarts minimum)
- Raingear
- Sunscreen and insect repellent
- A day pack

Preschool Wild Tails
Location: Evergreen Library, 5000 Highway 73, Evergreen CO
Join Evergreen Public Library and Jeffco Open Space the
third Tuesday of every month from 11-11:30 am through December 17th for nature education with your young ones.
Things get a little wild when your young one investigates nature with

2019 Climbing CRAG Volunteer Projects
Location: Multiple Parks
C.R.A.G. Projects are usually the
4th Saturday of each month from April through October. Join a dedicated group of climbing enthusiasts to Climb. Repair. Advocate. Give.
These projects require a high physicality level.
BACKGROUND: This year Jefferson County Open Space will host several small scale Saturday projects at a handful of our parks, through October focused solely on climbing access trails. Locations for some of these projects are subject to change depending on our work flow throughout the year. The forecast can be unpredictable this time of year so this event will go forward weather permitting.
Jefferson County Open Space will host volunteer workdays the 4th Saturday of each month through October in an effort to engage volunteers in maintaining popular climbing access routes. Work will include light trail maintenance and rock work, in an effort to provide sustainable grade through areas that have historically been prone to erosion.

EARTH DAY SOUTH VALLEY PARK VOLUNTEER PROJECT
APRIL 20, 8:00 A.M.–1:00 P.M.
Spend Earth Day outside protecting wildlife habitat, improving trail
conditions and keeping the park safe and clean for all to enjoy.

BACKGROUND: Spend Earth Day outside giving back to your public lands. Jefferson County Open Space is hosting a volunteer project at South Valley Park as a way to protect wildlife and continue to provide healthy and safe nature based experiences to our visitors.
WHAT WE WILL BE DOING: Volunteers will have the opportunity to improve existing trails in the park as well as building timber steps.
