Practical measures presented by nationally recognized practitioners of school safety. The Briefings School Safety Symposium, July 7-10, 2019
This 3 day Symposium examines lessons learned from traumatic events and reveals new, preemptive school safety measures growing in multiple realms. The focus is on proactive, measured and effective methods of keeping schools safe and is designed to provide a number of takeaways that districts, departments and agencies can implement immediately. This is not open to the public, and attendees will be asked to show an agency or organization I.D. upon check-in.
AUDIENCE: Law enforcement, school personnel, victim advocates, mental health professionals, emergency and risk managers, school safety teams and all first responders.
This symposium is hosted by The I Love U Guys Foundation and will be held at the Adams 12 Five-Star Schools Conference Center, 1500 E 128th Ave, Thornton, CO 80241
OPTIONAL ADJUNCT TRAINING: Extended Digital Threat Assessment, July 11-12, 2019
Digital Threat Assessment was developed through the need to keep pace with the ever-evolving technology challenges that face our students currently. These challenges have entered the education domain with force and have overwhelmed school district staff throughout the world. The goal is to give attendees a stronger understanding of the current social media world, tools to be able to proactively identify student safety concerns, and provide strategies for dealing with online situations as they arise. All aspects of school safety and threats to schools now involve a social media or online component and we need to be prepared.
AUDIENCE: School Administrators and Staff, Law Enforcement, Front-line Community Agencies
This training is conducted by Safer Schools Together and hosted by The I Love U Guys Foundation. It will be held at the Adams 12 Five-Star Schools Conference Center, 1500 E 128th Ave, Thornton, CO 80241
